I had WSPR set up a few weeks ago. I did something with my radio setup and the easiest way to fix it was reset my readio’s settings so I lost my digital settings I’d worked on. It took me a couple weeks because of other projects, but decided to get FT8 working. Field day is this weekend and I wanted to be able to add that to my list of modes to play with (and have help nearby if I have questions!).
Success. FT8 is running and is loads of fun. I was able to make contact last night with ZL3TCM in New Zealand, 7900 miles away! This was with 45 watts on 20 meter band.
Now will work tonight on making sure everything talks back/forth with my laptop that I’ll be using on field day! Hopefully will be able to get GridSquare working as well.
